For a Natural Lift and Restoration.
As we age, certain common changes occur in our facial appearance. Because of gravity and genetics, facial fat pads drop, and underlying structural volume diminishes. These aging effects may produce visible wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin, making us look tired and withdrawn.
Cosmetic dermal fillers are quickly becoming the go-to treatment to regain and maintain facial beauty. Most patients are seeking a non-invasive, no downtime procedure to address their aging concerns without impacting busy schedules. Fillers provide a non-surgical lift while boosting lost collagen, fill sunken voids, soften folds and wrinkles, and enhance your facial shape and outline.
The use of dermal fillers to restore a natural, rested, and rejuvenated appearance is Dr. Annie Chiu’s primary passion and celebrated area of expertise. Beyond simply “filling a wrinkle or line,” Dr. Chiu uses advanced, expert techniques to help the face reflect light, maintain proper balance, and bring overall facial harmony. The result is a softened, refreshed and more confident you, without the unnatural “done” look. Her subtle and natural approach is well known, quoted in media sources such as Elle Magazine.

Restore the brighter, rested contours of a youthful face!
How Do Fillers for Facial Rejuvenation Compare with Facelifts?
Dermal fillers applied with expert technique can have a dramatic, yet natural effect in restoring the brighter, rested contours of a youthful face. Our patients are often surprised by how much fillers can do while still looking completely natural, without the downtime and risks of surgery. In fact, dermal fillers often have no downtime, especially with Dr. Chiu’s advanced Micro-Cannula approach.

Dermal Fillers Common Questions
There are topical numbing agents like lidocaine blended in most of the injectable fillers. We can also use a topical numbing cream, making your dermal fillers a more comfortable procedure. With the use of a microcannula, even delicate areas like fillers in the undereye area or lip filler have little or no pain. To have the ultimate tranquil experience, The Derm Institute is pleased to provide Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide System for our patients to make your experience relaxed and stress-free.
Typically, dermal fillers provide an instant result! Some injectable fillers such as Sculptra do promote the body’s collagen synthesis and may take a few months to optimize.
Yes! Especially with advanced techniques such as the Micro-Cannula approach commonly used by Dr. Chiu, there is minimal risk of bruising and swelling. Redness in the areas treated can last a few hours on the first day. Tinted moisturizer or light cover-up can typically cover any minor redness. If slight bruising and swelling do occur, they typically last about two to five days.
How long results last depends on which injectable filler was used, and what area was treated, as well as lifestyle factors such as smoking and diet. On average, the duration of results range from 6 months to 2 years.
Rarely are patients not satisfied with their dermal filler outcome. However, at The Derm Institute, because Dr. Chiu is a renown expert in cosmetic injectable treatment, we sometimes need to help patients who come in to see us after a filler is injected poorly or too superficially by an outside clinic with inexperienced practitioners. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane and Juvederm can easily be corrected and dissolved in 24-48 hours, and your skin will return to baseline. Radiesse and Sculptra are not reversible, but we can help evaluate problematic cases and work with you to find the best solution.
Dermal fillers vary in cost from patient to patient, and a complete consultation is needed to determine the cost. Typically, dermal fillers with longer results will cost more than those with shorter duration but may give you more value over time. Typically, pricing starts at $750.
Gradually, your body will reabsorb the dermal filler, and your wrinkles and folds may slowly return to baseline. Injectable fillers do not cause wrinkles to increase with use. Recent studies show dermal fillers actually can promote new collagen by activating certain cells in the skin when injected.
